Two years ago, I stepped into the world of NDIS as a support worker, full of hope but with no formal training. My managers believed I could handle high-risk and complex needs clients right from the start. Thrown into intense situations, I often felt overwhelmed and unprepared, questioning how I could provide the quality care that every client deserved.
Seeking guidance, I turned to my business partner, a mental health expert and behavioral therapist. Their support was a game-changer, providing me with the knowledge and strategies I needed to truly make a difference. This journey opened my eyes to a major gap in the industry: the lack of proper training for support workers.
Inspired by these experiences, I founded Australian Disability Advocates. I wanted to ensure that no other support worker would have to face these challenges alone. At ADA, we focus on providing the highest quality of training from experts in the field. This personalised, continuous development breaks the cycle of untrained staff and ensures that every client receives the exceptional care they deserve.
At ADA, we are dedicated to making a positive impact, one participant at a time.
For over two years, I've experienced the challenges of being a support worker without formal training—learning on the job, facing uncertainty, and growing alongside the participants I support. My practical experience, combined with a Business Degree in Marketing, has strengthened my ability to think strategically and communicate effectively in advocating for participants.
I’ve had the privilege of outside guidance, but no support worker should have to rely on luck. My goal is to ensure every support worker has access to the resources they need to provide excellent care. I’m dedicated to compassionate, personalised support, helping individuals live meaningful lives.
